Ettore Nicoletto, the chief executive of Compagnia del Gusto Holding (CDGH), said: "The operation does not respond to a logic of scale, but of industrial function. The group has proprietary technology, a team with digital and artificial intelligence skills, and a direct relationship with the urban consumer, which becomes a market laboratory for the entire portfolio."
Winelivery, co-founded by Francesco Magro, Giovanni Roberto and Andrea Antinori, operates through a vertical model combining digital ordering and physical logistics.
Collaborating directly with various brands and producers, the platform supplies wine, beer, and alternative beverages to consumers across more than 60 Italian cities, claiming a delivery window of under 30 minutes.
Winelivery has been integrated into the sub-holding company, Compagnia delle Vigne.
Though its initial contributions will directly support the wine division, the platform's responsibilities are projected to expand over time.
"The prospects, however, look beyond: in the short term, the Winelivery ecosystem is expected to generate significant benefits for many of the other product categories in the Compagnia del Gusto portfolio," said a LinkedIn post from CDGH.
Managed by the Cosulich family, CDGH was established in 2024 and has scaled its operations through acquisitions.
In August, the group snapped up UK wine merchant Jascots from Henkell Freixenet. CDGH would continue distributing the wines sold through Jascots while using the business to expand its Italian wine and food portfolio in the UK market.
The deal built on CDGH's June acquisition of the Cantine Romagnoli winery, based in the Piacenza region.
Earlier, in April, the group acquired the historic artisanal biscuit brand Krumiri Rossi, from the Portinaro family.
"Compagnia del Gusto acquires wine delivery firm Winelivery" was originally created and published by Just Drinks, a GlobalData owned brand.
