Dear Adobe Stock Fans, Mark Your Calendars for September 10 Ebube Jones Sun, September 6, 2026 at 10:00 PM GMT+9 5 min read ADBE -6.73% Adobe (ADBE) shareholders should circle Thursday, Sept. 10, on their calendars. The company will release its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results after the market closes that day, followed by a conference call with investors from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time. This report arrives at a pivotal moment for one of the software industry's most closely watched names.
Adobe heads into the report with considerable operational momentum. In fiscal Q2, Adobe generated record revenue of $6.62 billion, up 13% year-over-year (YOY). Just as notably, Adobe's AI-first annual recurring revenue (ARR) more than tripled YOY to exceed $500 million, offering an increasingly tangible sign that its investments in AI products are beginning to produce meaningful recurring revenue.

That sets up a high-stakes checkpoint. Will the numbers and guidance finally convince investors that Adobe's AI and user-acquisition strategy is building lasting power? Or will Sept. 10 simply reinforce the caution that has hung over ADBE stock all year? Let's dive in.
Based in San Jose, California, Adobe develops creative, document, and digital-experience software. Its portfolio includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Acrobat, Creative Cloud, and Firefly. Valued at $111.2 billion by market capitalization, the company earns most of its revenue through subscriptions sold to consumers, professionals, enterprises, and marketing organizations globally.
As of this writing, Adobe stock is down 18% year-to-date (YTD) as well as 18% over the past 52 weeks.
At 14.4 times forward earnings, Adobe trades at a relative earnings discount versus the sector median, while its 4.8 times price-to-sales (P/S) ratio exceeds the sector median.
Adobe released its Q2 fiscal 2026 results on June 11, reporting record revenue of $6.62 billion. That figure rose 13% YOY and exceeded the $6.45 billion consensus estimate.
The stronger top line supported adjusted earnings of $5.96 per share, which beat analysts' forecast of $5.81 per share. It also lifted adjusted operating income to $2.95 billion. Adobe reported $1.71 billion in net income for the May 2026 quarter, while cash flows from operations were $2.17 billion.
The company returned capital by repurchasing approximately 8.5 million shares during the quarter, supporting future per-share earnings.
More importantly, Adobe expanded the recurring-revenue base, with annual recurring revenue (ARR) rising almost 13% YOY to $27.1 billion and quarter-end billings growing 12% to $6.4 billion. Those gains point to sustained customer demand as Adobe heads toward its next earnings report.
Adobe generated $6.39 billion in total customer-group subscription revenue, up 14% YOY, including approximately $40 million from Semrush. Business Professionals & Consumers subscription revenue increased 16% to $1.85 billion, adding further support to Adobe's growth outlook.
Adobe has strengthened its AI strategy through partnerships, product expansion, and a planned acquisition. The company recently expanded its partnership with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company. The agreement is designed to deliver full-stack AI capabilities globally and support Saudi Arabia's growing creative sector. Adobe valued its commitment under the partnership at more than $4 billion.
Adobe is also expanding its in-house AI capabilities through its proposed acquisition of Topaz Labs. The company signed a definitive agreement to buy the AI specialist, which develops video and image-enhancement models.
The transaction is expected to close during the second half of 2026, as Topaz Labs will add enhancement technology to Firefly, Firefly Services, and Creative Cloud applications.
Adobe's enterprise AI strategy is also gaining support from major agency groups and consulting firms. Accenture (ACN), Omnicom (OMC), Stagwell's (STGW) Code and Theory, and WPP (WPP) are deploying Adobe's content, data, and AI platforms for global brands.
Taken together, these initiatives show Adobe pursuing AI growth across consumer, creator, and enterprise markets.
Adobe will release its Q3 fiscal 2026 results after the market closes on Sept. 10. For the quarter, analysts expect earnings of $4.86 per share, representing 13% growth from $4.29 in the prior-year period.
The estimate follows a stronger full-year outlook from management. Adobe's revenue guidance midpoint of $26.55 billion is above the $26.09 billion analyst consensus, while its adjusted EPS guidance midpoint of $24.40 is also nearly 4% higher than Wall Street's projection.
Even so, the raised outlook has not resolved investor concerns around Adobe's AI strategy. In July, Bank of America downgraded ADBE stock to "Underperform," arguing that expanding AI tools could pressure the growth outlook rather than enhance it. Morgan Stanley expressed similar concerns on July 21, downgrading Adobe stock to "Underweight" from "Equal-Weight," and slashing its price target to $240 from $365. The firm cited free-tier offerings, leadership uncertainty, higher AI spending, and AI-native competition as risks to revenue growth and profitability.
As a result, Wall Street's broader stance remains cautious. Adobe has a consensus "Hold" rating based on 38 analyst opinions. The average price target of $264.91 implies potential downside of 7% from current levels. That disconnect makes the Sept. 10 report especially important.
Adobe's upcoming Q3 report should offer a clearer answer on whether its AI investments are turning into lasting growth. The company enters the Sept. 10 release with strong subscription revenue, expanding AI traction, and raised full-year targets. Still, investors will want proof that its enterprise tools can offset rising competition. A modest earnings beat appears likely, given Adobe's recent execution and guidance. The bigger issue is whether management can deliver confident growth targets that convince Wall Street its AI strategy is strengthening the business.
