Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the other major stock indexes traded lower ahead of Tuesday's open. On Monday, the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite led the stock market lower after President Donald Trump said the U.S. will reimpose its blockade of Iranian ports near the Strait of Hormuz, set to resume Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Micron Technology ( MU), Sandisk ( SNDK), SK Hynix ( SKHY) and Space Exploration Technology ( SPCX), known as SpaceX, dived during Monday's trading session.

Stock Market Today: Q2 Earnings Season To Start
A flurry of big banks get the stock market's second-quarter earnings season rolling early Tuesday. JPMorgan Chase ( JPM), Goldman Sachs ( GS), Wells Fargo ( WFC) and Bank of America ( BAC) all report. Morgan Stanley ( MS) leads a group of others Wednesday.
Expectations are high for Goldman, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. The Federal Reserve stress test of 32 top banks in June showed the sector in strong standing with regard to capital reserves and other factors.

Dow Jones Futures Today: Oil Prices, Treasury Yields
On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.3%, while the S&P 500 moved down 0.8% and the Nasdaq composite sold off 1.6%. Oil prices jumped more than 9% to above $78 a barrel. And the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield moved up to 4.6%.
Ahead of Tuesday's opening bell, Dow Jones futures moved down 0.2% as did S&P 500 futures, while Nasdaq-100 futures lost 0.4% in overnight trade. Remember that overnight action in Dow Jones futures and elsewhere doesn't necessarily translate into actual trading in the next regular stock market session.

What To Do In Today's Stock Market
