NEW YORK (WPIX) – Thousands of cases of Pillsbury bread rolls are being recalled due to the potential presence of glass, according to a Food and Drug Administration enforcement report.
General Mills is voluntarily recalling two varieties of rolls because they may contain foreign materials, and specifically glass, according to the report.
The recall affects Pillsbury Bread Rolls and Pillsbury Bread Kaiser Rolls, which were shipped to more than a dozen states.
To date, the distribution has been narrowed to the states of Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
The recall was categorized as Class II on Monday, meaning the use of or exposure to the product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to the FDA.
