An apparent issue with air traffic control led to a ground stop at Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport on Thursday afternoon, lasting from roughly 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. before things began to return to normal.

“Airlines are beginning to resume some operations at MSP and other airports after the FAA equipment outage,” MSP Airport said. “We expect some flight impacts to resume through the evening as airlines recover. Travelers should still contact airlines for latest flight status.”

A man on a plane, who was waiting to depart on the tarmac at MSP, reported on social media that the Delta pilot said the issue was due to “the airport radar being out in this part of the country.”

One person, a fellow Minnesotan, responded to the man’s post, saying they were stuck on the tarmac at Ronald Reagan International Airport in Washington, D.C., due to the issue.

Just MSP. Sitting on tarmac at DCA > MSP. But it’s affecting all flights heading west? No ETA.
