S&P 500 To Add Marvell And Flex. Both AI Stocks Rising.

Marvell Technology and Flex are set to join the S&P 500 index, replacing Pool Corp. and Campbell's, as part of the latest quarterly rebalance by S&P Dow Jones Indices. Roku will enter the S&P MidCap 400. The changes will take effect before the market opens on June 22. Following the announcement, stocks for Marvell and Flex saw increases of 6% and 2%, respectively, while Roku rose by nearly 5%. Marvell Technology ( MRVL) and Flex ( FLEX) will join the S&P 500 index, replacing Pool Corp. ( POOL) and Campbell's ( CPB), S&P Dow Jones Indices announced late Friday. Roku ( ROKU) will join the S&P MidCap 400. Marvell, Flex and Roku all rose after Friday's close.

The changes, part of a quarterly rebalancing of S&P indexes, will take place before the open on Monday, June 22.

Late Thursday, S&P Dow Jones said it would not fast-track SpaceX and other upcoming huge IPOs into the S&P 500.

Other Notable S&P Index Changes

Roku is jumping straight into the S&P Midcap 400, along with Viavi Solutions ( VIAV) and Coeur Mining ( CDE), while Semtech ( SMTC), Sanmina ( SANM) are moving up from the S&P SmallCap 600.

Pool and Campbell's are dropping all the way down to the 600.

Marvell stock jumped 6% in late trade while fellow AI hardware play Flex climbed 2%. Streaming media platform Roku gained nearly 5%. Coeur Mining advanced nearly 3%. Viavi lost a fraction.

Semtech and Sanmina fell slightly overnight. More funds track the S&P SmallCap 600 than the S&P MidCap 400, so stocks moving up from the 600 to 400 often see a one-off decline.
