AI stocks are selling off as investors question whether the dizzying trade that has powered markets this year has more room to run.
After a red-hot U.S. debut on Friday, chip maker SK Hynix's shares plummeted 15% today back in Seoul, their steepest fall on record. Its ADRs are down about 9% premarket.
Futures contracts tied to the Nasdaq-100 are down nearly 1%, and shares in U.S. chipmakers are falling ahead of the bell, with Micron Technology stock sliding 5%.
Meanwhile, with fighting between the U.S. and Iran intensifying over the weekend, Brent crude prices jumped almost 4% to near $80 a barrel, before paring gains somewhat.
Earnings season kicks off tomorrow with results from five major U.S. banks, including JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is also due to testify in Congress tomorrow.
