Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the other major stock indexes traded higher Friday after a surprise July jobs report. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence cybersecurity leader Cloudflare ( NET) was a big earnings winner on the stock market today.

Ahead of Friday's open, Dow futures rose 0.3%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.5%. The Nasdaq-100 futures climbed 1.2% in early morning trading.

Dow Jones Movers: Salesforce, Amazon, Nvidia, Walmart

Inside the Dow Jones industrials, Salesforce ( CRM), Amazon ( AMZN) and Nvidia ( NVDA) all rallied more than 1% in early morning action.

On the downside, Walmart ( WMT) dropped nearly 1% in premarket action.

Surprise Jobs Report

Early Friday, the Labor Department said the U.S. economy lost 23,000 jobs in July, with the unemployment rate falling to 4.1%.

The U.S. economy was anticipated to have added 88,000 jobs in July, with no change in the unemployment rate at 4.2%. That was up slightly from June's 57,000 increase.

Cloudflare Stock Soars On Earnings

Early Friday, Cloudflare stock soared nearly 16% after the company reported second-quarter results that beat Wall Street targets while the company's revenue outlook came in well above expectations.

For the second quarter, Cloudflare earnings were 29 cents, up 38% from a year earlier. Revenue climbed 36% to $696 million. Analysts predicted Q2 adjusted profit of 27 cents a share and revenue of $664.7 million.

Shares were on pace to hit a new record high.

Other Earnings Movers: Airbnb, Atlassian, Twilio

Early Friday, Airbnb ( ABNB), Atlassian ( TEAM), Cloudflare ( NET), DraftKings ( DKNG), Oklo ( OKLO), Twilio ( TWLO), Under Armour ( UA) and Wendy's ( WEN) were earnings movers.

ABNB stock jumped 7%, as Atlassian shares soared 32%. DraftKings shares dropped more than 1%, while Oklo stock climbed nearly 4%. Shares of Twilio rallied 17%, but UA stock dropped 1%. Finally, Wendy's stock declined 3.3% in premarket trading.

Stock Market Today: Jobs Report Next

Early Friday, the Labor Department's July jobs report is set for 8:30 a.m. ET. The U.S. economy is anticipated to have added 88,000 jobs in July, with no change in the unemployment rate at 4.2%. That's up slightly from June's 57,000 increase.

A deviation from those expectations could swing the outlook for Federal Reserve rate hikes, with markets on the fence about September's meeting.
