Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh said that President Donald Trump — who’s long called for slashing US interest rates — hasn’t tried to interfere with the central bank, and wouldn’t succeed if he attempted such a thing.

“I just don’t want to be in the business of sharing discussions that the president and I have,” Warsh said in answering a question at a Senate Banking Committee hearing Wednesday on whether he’s had communication with Trump since taking the Fed’s helm.
