National Donut Day lands on Friday, June 5.
It’s a delightfully absurd food holiday for a delightfully absurd breakfast item. (Cake can be a breakfast item as long as it’s circular?)
Debates about the merits of dessert for breakfast aside, it’s National Donut Day. That means that bakeries, gas stations, and cafes are offering discounts on donuts and, in some cases, even a freebie for those exuberant enough to get out of the house before the rush.
Here are some of the best deals and specials you’ll find on National Donut Day.

There’s no discount, but it does have an opulent, alluring Banana Cream Pie Brioche Doughnut for a limited time. That’s in addition to its popular brown butter and Nutella-filled donuts. 904 W 36th St., Minneapolis; 5003 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park
The more than century-old St. Paul bakery is celebrating simply. La Boulangerie Marguerite is offering its glazed donuts for $1.50, while they last. (They probably aren’t going to last long.) 1279 Randolph Ave., St. Paul

Cub Rewards Members can get the grocery chain’s quietly beloved donuts for 99 cents each from June 5–7.
Get a free donut with any purchase, just like the company has done for more than 15 years.
